Yesterday we got the news about fares increase on trains
"Rail fares for season
ticket holders have increased by an average of 4.2% as the annual price
hike, announced in August, comes into effect.
Overall, ticket prices have gone up by 3.9% in England, Wales and Scotland, but rises vary between train operators."
The minister who had to tour the studios and spout the government line was Norman Baker (Lib Dem) , As this blog reported yesterday Nick Clegg is being ignored by not only rank and file Lib Dems, but by the Lib Dems deputy leader Simon Hughes, well it seems as if My Baker is another one who ignores the DPM
The only silver lining to this cloud is that the unpaid intern will not be affected by the fares increase working for nothing for a Government minister.......
It really is no fun being a Lib Dem at the moment, well its not going to get any better, Its one thing for rank and file Lib Dems to ignore the DPM over unpaid interns but it is another thing for the deputy leader of the Lib Dems ( Simon Hughes ) to ignore the DPM on the same subject
Those two faced Lib Dems are at it again , a while ago i highlighted their hypocrisy on unpaid interns
Well this time it is the MP for Cheltenham
Lets just remember what scheme Nick Clegg promoted
"The national internship scheme will ask firms to pay young people
doing work experience and warn they could otherwise risk a legal
challenge under the national minimum wage legislation. The deputy prime
minister will say that the aim is to make career progression less
dependent on "who your father's friends are".
If his own party are not listening to him why should anyone else?

It would take a heart of stone not to chuckle......
"The weakening of Venezuela’s democratic system of checks and balances
under President Hugo Chávez has contributed to a precarious human
rights situation. Without judicial checks on its actions, the government
has systematically undermined the right to free expression, workers’
freedom of association, and the ability of human rights groups to
protect rights. Weeks before the new National Assembly—with a substantial opposition
composition—took office in January 2011, Chávez’s supporters in the
legislature adopted several laws that increased the government’s ability
to undercut rights. Police abuses and impunity remain a grave problem. Prison conditions
are deplorable, and fatality rates high due to inmate violence."
And this caught my eye
"The government has abused its control of broadcasting frequencies to
punish radio and television stations with overtly critical programming.
In 2009 the government broadcasting authority CONATEL closed 32 radio
stations and reported that over 200 others were under review, without
providing a list of the stations being investigated. Several stations
have since limited their critical programming. In November 2011 CONATEL
suspended several radio stations while it investigated them, but no
additional stations had been closed at this writing."
It seems like Mr Jones agrees with other Socialists , What are you sad about?????
"His friend and colleague Jonathan Agnew said on Twitter: "Desperately sad
to tell you that CMJ died peacefully this morning".
The news was also reported by the BBC, where Martin-Jenkins worked as a
commentator on Test Match Special.
He also worked as a cricket correspondent for both the Daily Telegraph
and The Times during his career.
Martin-Jenkins was given an MBE in 2009 and served as the MCC's president in
2010 and 2011. The official account of Lord's tweeted this morning: "Former
MCC President Christopher Martin-Jenkins has died. Sad, sad news to start
the new year."
Martin-Jenkins' son Robin was a professional cricketer for Sussex until his
retirement in 2010, making 162 first class appearances for the county."
" "Former England cricket captain Tony Greig has died after suffering a heart attack on Saturday morning. He was 66. Greig
was rushed to St Vincent's hospital in Sydney but was pronounced dead
shortly afterwards. A spokesman David Faktor told the Sydney Morning
Herald: "The staff of the emergency department worked on Mr Greig to no
avail." Greig, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in October, had
admitted the prognosis was "not good" when speaking to his colleagues at
Channel Nine in Australia, where he commentated for over 30 years, last
month. But his death still came as a shock to his friends and
colleagues."
But before that we had the sad and shocking news about Tom Maynard
"It is believed that Tom Maynard, 23, who plays for Surrey and was widely
tipped to be a future England international, was stopped by officers in the
early hours of the morning for driving erratically.
The sportsman allegedly ran off on foot and managed to give police the slip.
However, less than an hour later he was hit by a Tube train near Wimbledon
Park station in south-west London."
Each time i hear or learn of a person that passes away i do grieve, not always forthe reason it happened or what they stood for, not even for being successful, I grieve for one reason ( and yes its selfish) , The reason is that those that have passed away are a hundred million times better than me, they have lived a more fulfilling life, done more good that i have or will ever do, yet i am still here. This really gets me ( dont get me wrong i do not want to die and am not going to do anything silly) , See these people deserve so much more, more happiness, more love and respect.
Many times people try and convince me that a "God" exists, sorry, if *God* had any compassion he/she would never allow the good to die so young?
