It is so easy to give football stick ( rightly) , but when it does something good we should also praise them, so imagine my joy when i found this story in the Daily Mail
West Ham winger Matt Jarvis has
insisted it is time a gay footballer felt comfortable enough to come out
and believes that doing so could aid an individual's on-pitch
performances.
Jarvis has
followed the leads of David Beckham and Freddie Ljungberg to become only
the third footballer to feature on the cover of the UK's bestselling
gay magazine, Attitude, and is confident that homophobia would not be a
significant problem.
'It's everyday life,' said Jarvis, who is married. 'It's not something that's going to be a shock.
As a West Ham fan i am pleased to see someone from our club coming out and saying this,we are tackling racism on the pitch and in the stands, now lets tackle the other taboo, I dont want to go to a game with partner and then have to listen to a few thousand *fans* shouting obscenity`s about a football players potential sexuality, I thought people went to watch the game of football, not shout abuse.
However this also allows me to repost the stunning picture of David Beckham wearing nothing but a pair of pants
What a joyous way to start the day :)
