One Thing Bugs Me About This

I has been on twitter a while, i have also seen a few blogs/newspapers and seen how they act, they normally get info thro FOI ( Gov) or check company thro google or companies house, so why do MPs (mainly) need advice on getting info from public (Taxpayers), they have staff ( on the taxpayer), access to Parliaments resources yet seem unable to get basic facts
