Guest Post: Wishful Smiles

Wishful Smiles is a charity that aspires to bring smiles to those whom see it the less. Our vision is to see hunger, pain, poverty and social injustice eradicated from the world; as we acknowledge that every human life matters and deserves a chance to flourish

Our aim is to work with the worlds most disadvantaged and underprivileged communities to combat poverty, famine, social injustice and illiteracy by providing financial and material aid to those unable to support their families, education to children, clean drinking water to barren villages, tackle human rights, social justice and healthcare.

Wishful Smiles have set a date to launch the charity on Saturday 23rd March 2013.
Wishful Smiles will be working in association with UNITED SIKHS to raise funds and awareness for the ‘Widowed Women Campaign' - This campaign will be launched in aid to educate widowed women in Punjab who cannot read nor write, do not get state pensions and are living in severe poverty. There are approximately 5000 widowed women in Punjab who have signed away their lives due to the lack of education; we want to change their lives forever.  Funds raised during the Wishful Smiles Launch will aid towards this campaign

The night will be a night of Charity and Entertainment. We will be showcasing a fashion show that will contribute towards the different Cultural attires worn by different cultures across the globe. Drama presentations will also be a highlight of the event as it will showcase the message of Wishful Smiles and the work we aim to do, as well as raising awareness of the social injustice happening around the globe. Dancers, Singers, actors, Fashion designers, MP’s, councillors, ambassadors, musicians are a few group of people expected on the night as well as amazing media coverage.

Please come and support us to raise awareness of the poverty around the globe and the importance of raising justice for women that are not so privileged.
